Meet the Artists: Deborah Azzopardi and Isabelle van Zeijl
Over wine and canapés, come and meet two artists who are currently featured in our bi-annual art exhibition, in conjunction with A Space for Art.
Deborah Azzopardi is world-renowned for her distinctive pop art images. Her paintings and limited-editions are provocative and flirtatious – celebrating the drama and joy of everyday life. Juxtaposing lines of comic-book text with sassy images, her simple graphics and toned shading is informed by her years working for Disney, but her humour is distinctively British.
Isabelle van Zeijl is a fine art photographer who is fascinated by the art of the past and different perspectives on beauty through the ages. She explores the aesthetics and techniques of the old masters to create present-day striking portraits.
Both artists are represented by The Cynthia Corbett Gallery who, in 2009 launched ‘The Young Masters Art Prize’: a not-for-profit initiative with the aim of celebrating artists who pay homage to the skill and traditions of the past.
Cost: £5 member, £10 guests (all monies to our charity The Marylebone Project)
